- 2. Washington National Title Sponsor of Wounded Warrior Amputees vs. NFL Stars Flag Football Game
- Washington National Insurance Company announced its sponsorship of the Wounded Warrior Amputees vs. NFL Stars Flag Football Game. The event was a key part of the festivities leading up to Super Bowl XLVI. It featured a team of Wounded Warrior amputees who played a game of flag football against NFL players to raise money and awareness for veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs during military service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

- HOPE Establishes Endowment Fund for the American Cancer Society
- Members of Health Opportunity through Partnership in Education (HOPE) and Washington National’s 80,000 cancer policy certificate holders generously contributed to the HOPE foundation to promote its mission through partnerships with established non-profit organizations, such as the American Cancer Society.

- A Record Breaking United Way Campaign for CNO
- CNO’s Carmel-based employees pledged more than $240,000 to its United Way workplace campaign, exceeding the company's goal by nearly five percent. Including additional pledges from CNO employees in Chicago, Philadelphia and Dallas, along with the company's matching contribution of $145,000, the campaign raised more than $505,000 for United Way organizations in CNO's four major office locations. CNO and its employees have participated in the United Way workplace campaign for more than 11 years.
